Damage Types¶
Physical
Physical damage is the most common damage type. It is generally resolved against the defender’s Armor Value (AV) of the corresponding hit zone.
Subtypes
Sharp
Sharp physical damage triggers Bleeding 1 for each damage roll explosion.
Blunt
Blunt physical damage inflicts Off-Balance for each damage roll explosion. If the hit is to the head, it instead inflicts Stunned.
Shadow
Shadow damage ignores up to [PER-MOD] i of the defender’s AV. Damage roll explosions also inflict Brittle 1 on the affected hit zone per explosion, in addition to the explosion effect of the weapon type.
Arrow
On damage roll explosions, Arrow damage forces a Wound Check for each wound caused. For each exploding die, all Wound Checks for that hit are made with Disadvantage 1.This represents arrows and similar projectiles lodging in wounds and hampering healing.
Magical
Magical damage is any non-physical damage (e.g., fire, void, air) and is generally resolved against a character’s Magic Defense (MD). The hit zone is determined only when a wound is inflicted.
Subtypes
On a damage roll explosion, magical damage of specific elements applies the following status effects:
Air
Knockback [Proficiency]
Arcane
None
Fire
Ice
Light
Lightning
Shocked [Proficiency]
Void
Absolute
Absolute damage ignores both AV and MD and applies directly against a character’s Wound Treshold (WT). The hit zone is determined only when a wound is inflicted.
Toughness Damage
Toughness Damage is caused only by status effects (e.g., Bleeding, Poisoned) and is resolved only against Toughness (TN). The hit zone is determined only when a wound is inflicted.
