Chaotic Magic¶
What is Chaotic Magic?
Whenever a spellcaster deviates from established spells, either by Freecasting or through sorcery, there is a significant chance of something going wrong. These random effects vary wildly in ramifications and severity.
Chaos Check
Whenever the rules call for a Chaos Check, the caster has to roll a raw DC 10 check, eased by their proficiency value for this specific spell. A natural 1 always counts as a failure.
On success, the caster keeps control over the spell and Chaotic Magic is not triggered.
On failure, the caster loses control and has to roll on the Chaotic Magic table for a random effect.
