Shamans
Shamans have a powerful bond with the spirit world and use it to strengthen their allies and summon powerful elementals.
Special Features
Local Elementals
Shamans are highly dependent on their surroundings. Their spells are influenced by which elemental spirits are present nearby; presence varies by place and affects both MP cost and damage type. If there is no presence at all, the spell cannot be cast. Certain consumables (e.g., elemental cores) can substitute for natural sources.
Presence & MP costs
Costs are written weak/normal/strong. Example: 3/2/1 MP means costs drop from 3 (weak presence) to 1 (strong presence).
Environmental Preferences
Elemental spirits are drawn to concentrations of their element. Examples:
Water
Weak: bucket/puddle/mist
Normal: brook/pond/rain
Strong: river/ocean/lake/downpour
Stone
Weak: soil/hill
Normal: rock floor/boulders
Strong: cave/mountains
Fire
Weak: torch
Normal: campfire
Strong: wildfire/volcano
Air
Weak: breeze
Normal: strong wind
Strong: storm
Foci
Shaman foci are usually amulets adorned with elementally significant symbols, or staffs with inlet elemental cores.
